Great museum with many docents on hand to help you interpret the exhibits. If you are visiting from out of town you must make this a stop on your trip. If your a local then you have no reason to delay your visit if you haven't been here already.
The museum is privately owned but has an astonishing amount of functioning water one in World War II planes. The museum offers plane rides in some of the old planes however this is rather expensive. They also have some full scale models of World War II prototype planes which never actually flow.
A true gem for Virginia Beach. Military aviation history comes alive there. The majority of the aircraft are flight capable and they aren't kept behind any barriers - but you're still not allowed to touch them. For 7 to 8 months of the year, rides can be purchased in two of the vintage aircraft. It's not to be missed!
We come here with our three year old son, and enjoy it every time. Getting up close to the aircraft is great. I love the WW1 hanger. The volunteers are highly knowledgeable about the planes.
So many planes to look at. My son had a STEM paper airplane challenge here on the 17th. Was a great day!! The staff here are so knowledgeable and friendly. The dinosaur park out front is free to walk around in. Didn't get a chance to check it out. From what i seen it is awesome !!! Great for family visits. Gift shop is on site. Lots of great things to check out.
