First that review about the owner being rude made me a little hesitant to go. I went to the place expecting her to be rude.I can read people very well. She is a lady and she wants respect. She deserves it. Her service was excellent to me because I was polite to her and appreciative. I even called before to see if she could make me an avocado drink. She brought my husband and I the best pho I've ever had! Everything was so fresh. It felt like my mother was serving me as you could feel her care for us. She will read you to see if you are a disrespectful person I could tell that. So basically be respectful to her and she will treat you like royalty. We tipped her because it was well worth it!
I went to this restaurant tonight with my husband and had a horrible experience. The owner was our waitress, and when we came in she was on the phone. Shortly after we sat down she came over and gave us menu's, then maybe a minute later she came back and asked us what our order was. (Still on the phone the whole time) We told her we weren't ready yet and she made a sound and rolled her eyes. ( That was strike one)

The food came out, and it was good. However, because of the attitude we got before our food, I made up my mind that this waitress would not be getting a tip for us. We are very big on tipping our servers, but I don't pay if I've had awful service. This is actually the first time we haven't tipped ever!
The food was great. So many flavors. Service was fast and friendly. Here on vacation, but I highly recommend this place. I lived in NYC for almost ten years, and know what good Vietnamese food tastes like-because I've tasted it all. Miss Saigon is delicious.
When we were finally able to make our choices, we called our waitress over, who took our order, than snatched our menu away and walked back to the kitchen. ( That was strike two)
When it was time to leave, my husband went to the counter to pay. We expected to see our check before we pay, but the waitress just looked at us as if we were crazy. My husband paid with his credit card, and the waitress told us the total AFTER she swiped, and told us to just sign the ticket.The total was a higher than we thought it should be so we asked for a breakdown. We then saw that she put in her own gratuity!( definitely strike 3)

Food is delicious! Great customer service. Adorable little family run business. Love the pork and rice and spring rolls!

When asked about this, she said " I put in the tip, because people don't leave a tip." Nowhere was there in writing that a tip would be added to our meal or anything! We were very upset! We told her this was unethical and that we didn't want to leave a tip! She had a huge attitude and said she will deduct the amount from our charge. When my husband asked her for the receipt, she lied and told him she had already given it to us and that in America we have to give tips for food and that we expect to eat without paying. He told her we do tip usually but that what she did was dishonest and she can't just add it in without telling a person. As we were getting ready to leave she got angry and gave back the tip amount and said not to come to her restaurant anymore, that decision was definitely already made!
