Very helpful people at the center, I told them what we wanted in our hike and they traced two different trails with two different colors and gave us a "customized" suggestion. My parents loved it! We saw the lagoons and the bay in the same hike!
Just about as good as it's gonna get in VA. If you're new, flat and swampy terrain. The paths are well marked, just don't wander off like I did. There are venomous snakes, so wear ankle weights or something. Also, there are bike friendly paths. There is a parking fee.
Nice well marked trails. Stay on trails and don't wander off into protected habitats. They are there for a reason. Water snakes in brackish waters that are hard to spot if you are not looking so keep kids from playing near the waters.
