Navigating from Farm Fresh to Harris Teeter ... we realized that Harris Teeter's quality & selection is unmatched & we were no longer going to sacrifice excellence to pay a few cents less ... & in many cases more ... for pedestrian produce.
After relocating to Virginia Beach & becoming more acclimated to the area ... determining that Harris Teeter was the cleanest & healthiest grocery store in this immediate area was a no brainer.
High priced like any Harris Teeter, but not as clean as others I've been in . Flower selection was disappointing. Kind of in an odd location and I wouldn't say in a bad location for visiting after dark (there are like kids that bike to here, it can't be that bad), but the border area to the west is kind of sketchy so I wouldn't walk here late at night from that direction.
Crazy deals can be found here like buy two and get three more for free! From what I understand, Monday's and Tuesdays are the best days for huge sales on most items to include meats. You'll sometimes pay a higher amount on other items, but they make up for it with the massive savings on other items. They have a great selection of quality items too and not just the big box brands you'd find at places like Walmart.
They provide, hands down, the largest selection of fruits, vegetables & prepared foods at very affordable prices ... including an array of exotic produce not available at their competitors.
Go to any Harris Teeter and you'll see it's kind of an upscale experience. But basically is just Kroger's Premier brand and unjustifiably so. But people are so into the upscale shopping experience they really feel like they getting bang-for-the-buck when they're just getting banged for their buck. Just look at the meat sales every Wednesday and you will notice that there is a separate price for anytime steaks go on sale. Harris Teeter offers their Rancher beef alongside their Angus beef and always and I mean always priced at $1 below the Angus. But as it turns out the Angus selection is USDA choice and the Rancher beef is USDA select which is an inferior great kind of like the Walmart beef that doesn't give you a great it just says it's guaranteed that it is inspected. Don't get me wrong Harris Teeter does have good points but it's mostly a smoke and mirrors show. If you want high quality on par with or even better than Harris Teeter just cut out the middleman and go to Kroger.
Love shopping here, always save tons of money. They have amazing deals. Great way to stock up on pantry items. Buy one get one or buy 2 get 3 free. The staff is nice and professional. Store is clean!!
