I roll in with my dinky yard-sale bike, and I'm immediately intimidated by the rows and rows of beautiful, sparkling, high-performance bikes. I'm almost embarrassed to be bringing them such a cheap thing. But they can't be nicer. Direct me to the service department, listen to my tire issue, tell me no problem, never make me feel badly about my clunker/being a clueless obvious non-athlete. Never tried to sell me anything.
Walked in. Front desk immediately directed us to the back repair area. Tim greeted us immediately with a friendly face. Few questions to pinpoint issue, 10 min from diagnose to repair to checkout. Even checked a few other things and made a few free adjustments. Amazing. Totally coming back. Thank you Conte's!
let me get this straight. we spend thousands of dollars, end up sending the electric trike back like 5 times for them to fix the items that never worked to begin with. i could go on, and on, and on. so, after fixing the parts on it that never worked to begin with, they have the audacity to charge us for picking it up, and delivery! I wouldnt spend another dime in this train wreck of a store. ah, the beauty of being a local and the almighty word of mouth! Derek Amato - Ingenious Minds - The Discovery Channel
Prices were about average, selection too. The workers were not the friendliest or most helpful. I'm not buying a couple thousand dollar bike so apparently not a ranking customer...though the only one in the shop at the time and I struggled to keep their attention. Got much better service at East Coast Bicycles or BikeBeat literally down the road.
Finally, upon picking up my bike, I noticed the seat was raised super high (no biggy) and I asked if they could help show me how to adjust it down. Nope, they told me that too was an extra charge and that it would be 75.00 (I was asking for help putting the seat down, not an in-depth sizing/fitting).
Tl;dr: Treated me and my POS bike with respect, fixed my bike in two hours, charged me $0.
I leave my bike. They text me two hours later that it's ready for pick up. They diagnosed the problem, replaced the tire tube, and gave me a new tire. Then they check me out and hand me the receipt for the work order. $0.00. I'm confused. "No problem! No big deal! Happy to help!"
Now that I have gone to a few other places to see their pricing I realized how overpriced they were. Not cool.
I left the store with an iffy feeling on if I had been taken advantage of because it was my first road bike and I just dipped my foot in the water of biking.
I had purchased a gently used road bike, and I took it to the bike shop to have it serviced, I knew it needed the tires looked at and just some basic cleanup and was given an estimate of 90.00. A week later I was called by the service manager and was told that they were working on my bike and it needed the higher priced maintenance which involved cleaning and re greasing all the parts, costing 220.00. I was shocked and agreed to the extra service, and then I was told that I could pick it up later that day. I’m iffy about how quickly they were able to do the “extra” service that gave me 130.00 price tag, if it was really legit or if they saw they could gauge me because I was a noob.
