As an 18 year resident of the North End, I went to best value to purchase a bicycle for my son due to the stores reputation. 7 days after purchasing but less than 2 days and 5 miles of operation the bike's trear tire was flat. After questioning my son and his friends regarding how the flat occurred they stated that the bike's rear wheel was wobbly and didn't spin true from the first ride. I returned it for service and questioned if there was a problem with the rear rim. The rim was found to be out of round and required tuning. Best value refused to accept that the bike was delivered in that condition but repaired the rim at no charge, they did charge for the tire and labor. I asked for a exchange or refund and was denied. Given the limited use, there is no doubt that I purchased the bike with the rear rim out of round which caused the damage to the tire. With so many other options for their products and services, I will not be returning to best value again. It's hard to support local stores when they do not stand behind their product.
These guys are great every time. So glad to have them in the neighborhood. The isles are a little slim so don't bring a stroller but its a good trade off for the relatively huge selection for such a small place. They also sell bikes and fishing stuff. The employees are happy to help.
